My name is Jimmy Sloat. I was living a life of destruction leading to eternal death heading for hell. I ended up in prison because of my sin. God let me go through hard tribulations. Then I finally came to my senses, by the drawing of me near to God. I then accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I’m out of prison now experiencing the blessings of God through Straight Street Prison Recovery and my church family at Council Road Baptist Church. I am now living the abundant life Jesus promised us. I was incarcerated for 16 years. I was released August 5th 2025. Ricky Z was there to greet me and pray with me upon my release. The Lord Jesus has blessed me with a good job. At Kingdom Son discipleship house I now have love, accountability, and a family of believers in Jesus Christ. God is restoring my relationships with all 4 of my grown children. Also I am beginning new relationships with my grandchildren. On September 28th 2025 I was baptized after rededicating my life to Jesus Christ and as a witness to His church. I’m currently in the process of obtaining a drivers license for the first time ever. God is good! All the time! I’m now enjoying seeing the hand of God moving in my life. I’m experiencing God’s glory, one day at a time, Lord willing. God bless you.
My name is Josh and this is my testimony. Before I was saved, my life was a disaster. I was lost in drug addiction, broke all the relationships with my family. I spent 9 1/2 yrs. in prison and was homeless before being at my rock bottom. At the kingdom son house I was given the opportunity to learn who God is and how to trust and follow the Lord. I will forever be thankful for this blessing from God, and Ricky z whom God used to disciple me. My relationship with Jesus comes first in my life. If I want to grow, accept change, family restoration, and receive healing in my life, it all starts with Christ. Straight Street Prison Recovery showed me how to walk with God through the study of His word, and the many great spiritual mentors who have been with me through it all.
My name is Rocky Paulson. The first time I was released from prison I made it a total of 4 months before I started back to my old habits and was on my way back to prison.This last time when I was released from prison I was blessed to meet Ricky. He offered to let me move into the Kingdom Sons recovery house. I now have built a solid foundation with Jesus and am learning to live with Him as the Lord of my life. When someone asks me how am I doing my favorite saying is “I can’t complain” because of all the blessings God is doing in my life right now. I am so thankful for this opportunity I have been given.
