My name is Ricky Zeznanski. I serve as the executive director for the Straight Street Prison Recovery ministry. I’m on the board of directors. I’m also on staff at Council Road Baptist Church as the Recovery Ministries Director. I have been serving as a volunteer for the Dept. of Corrections for 12 yrs. now, bringing the hope in Jesus Christ to the men inside the prisons. I personally have spent over 20 yrs. of my adult life in prison on drug and alcohol related offences . Upon my release back in 2011, I volunteered to participate in a residential discipleship ministry. It was during this time that I learned what it means and how to be a committed follower of Jesus. I now am committed to share with others this God-given wisdom that I’ve learned, to bless them with a Christ-centered life that will keep them out of prison, and to bless them with the abundant life in scripture that Jesus promises us all.

We believe that lasting change happens through the indwelling power of Jesus Christ. That Christ can free the prisoner and break the chains of a negative lifestyle and the addictions that bind.
Our ministry is dedicated to empowering men transitioning from incarceration by providing comprehensive support to overcome addiction through Christ centered activities that can aid rebuilding their lives. Through faith-based guidance, community connection, and practical resources, we foster healing, personal growth, and lasting reintegration helping each individual rediscover purpose and hope. We help each participant to find meaningful employment in a good career field. Each participant agrees to a one year commitment of in-house discipleship with other men in Christ-centered fellowship as well as accountability to each other. They will regularly attend church, celebrate recovery, 12 step class, an in home bible study, and the Kingdom Son worship night, as well as volunteering their service in these ministries when needed. We support them in the restoration to their families. Our goal is to give the men a new Christ centered-lifestyle that will be lasting for the rest of their lives upon graduating the ministry and getting out on their own. Our Savior Jesus Christ is a God of restoration, and we believe that He will restore the lives of these men.
